BBS Graduation for the Class of 2022

Baghdad Business School (BBS) held its second graduation ceremony on Saturday,  December 19 to celebrate the achievements of the students who have successfully completed all the requirements for the Business Foundations program. Graduates, their families and friends, faculty and staff, and guests from the private sector and government, were in attendance.

The graduates received a Certificate of Completion to recognize their achievement in completing the one-year program in English, Business, and Professional skills. BBS addresses the skill gap and youth unemployment, generating human capital for the private sector.

 

 

BBS Founder Christine van den Toorn opened the event, recounting the history of BBS and its plans. The United States of America Ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Alina Romanowski was the keynote speaker at the graduation. In addition, Ali Tariq, Executive Director of the Iraqi Private Banks League, and Ali Al-Hilli, Director of Marketing and Online Communication, have both emphasized the importance of BBS for the economy of Iraq fuelling Iraqi human capital for the private sector companies. Then, Muntadher Al-Mousawi who is, the class speaker, talked about his journey at BBS and how could help him in finding his current job at Fedshi. Finally, Mr. Ahmed Tabaqchali, who is a business administration instructor at BBS, delivered the closing remark at the event by thanking the graduates who are the core of this program and all the attendances who were with us today.

BBS’s 19 graduates are now in internships and jobs with a variety of startups, SMEs, and firms like Fedshi, Alsaree3, Eduba, Safr Agency, Business by design, Earthlink, Alrasheed TV, Creativity development School, Bright Horizons, Dar Alataa, Elnil Energy, IOM-UN Migration, and some of the graduates are working at BBS now.
