BBS has launched the pilot class of its new Digital Business Program. The program aims to prepare you to work in the digital economy and will be exposed to some of the most commonly used business intelligence software packages in organizations today, which is an important part of the business ecosystem of the twenty-first century.
BBS accepted 19 students, and the students began classes for the first module, Design Thinking, which was followed by three other modules, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, and Fundamentals of Digital Strategy. Through a combination of lectures and discussion, these courses will introduce students to the elements of a successful entrepreneurial venture and assist students in analyzing tech and tech-enabled early-stage companies. There will be a special emphasis on ventures and other actors in the Federal Iraq and KRI markets, with distinctions drawn between startups and established companies. Also understanding how to use data to formulate and solve business problems gives business and accounting professionals the opportunity to become forward-thinking strategic partners in the organization. Students will be able to use the material to become valuable startup employees or even start their own businesses if they so desire.
Program’s Modules:
Design Thinking is a Human-Centered problem-solving methodology adopted by world-leading brands and universities as well as entrepreneurs and innovators, which can be applied to designing products, services, and startups. This module is designed to introduce a set of well-tested tools to go through the five nonlinear stages of the methodology. Based on their interests, the participants will be guided to identify problems and develop probable solutions, then develop a Business Model and a plan for testing and implementation.
This module will introduce the student to the elements of a successful entrepreneurial venture, through a mixture of lecture and discussion, to help the student analyze tech and tech-enabled early-stage companies. There will be a particular focus on the ventures and other actors in Federal Iraq and KRI markets, and distinctions will be highlighted between startups and traditional corporate enterprises. While this is not designed as a comprehensive “how to” course on starting a business, students will be able to draw upon the material to develop into valuable startup employees or even begin the entrepreneurial process if they so desire.
Organizations create and collect massive amounts of data as result of their day-to-day operations. Frequently referred to as “Big Data”.It represents an important asset for the organization. It is very important to understand not only how data is created, collected, stored, and accessed, but also to understand and implement controls over the storage and use of the organization’s data. Understanding how to use data to formulate and solve business problems provides an opportunity for the business and accounting professional to become a forward-thinking strategic partner in the organization. Students will be also exposed to some of the most common business intelligence software packages currently used in organizations.
The module will provide students with the frameworks and tools required to analyze emerging technology business models and start-ups. The course will include elements from finance, marketing and strategy to provide students with a comprehensive approach on how to make strategic decisions related to digital business models.
